After serving only 14 years in prison and 2 more in an asylum, he was released on "good behavior" and was deemed "sane"... never to be seen again. We also talk about why it's a very, very bad idea to own a wild animal as a pet, focusing on the 2009 incident when Travis the Chimp horrifically maimed his owner's friend Charla Nash. This week we cover pirates and mimes, what's better? Hating mimes is unquestioned and acceptable. Learn about the history of mimes and explore possible reasons why they are so hated. Then we learn all about Zheng Yi Sao, a badass Chinese pirate leader. She was known for successfully plundering the South China Sea in the early 19th century.

Beauty and the Beast [Episode 151]

This week our topics are connected in so many ways. First we get into neoteny and the warm fuzzies we get for baby-like features in animals (think cocker spaniel). Did you know Mickey Mouse used to look very different? Did you know dog breeds used to look very different? Then we go beyond shock-value to discuss Beastiality, a legal offense, and its medical counterpart, zoophilia and all the implications thereof. We focus on the Enumclaw horse sex case of 2005. 
If you feel upset, like us, about the recent reversal of constitutional protections for abortion and what it could mean for future reversals which will impact contraception and gay rights, we feel it is important to take our upset feelings and do something that will make a difference. We also feel it is more important than ever to take care of ourselves which for us means media breaks, doing things we love, connecting with those we care about, and of course finding ways to laugh.

It's our 150th episode!!! For this special show Macie and Naomi review the Netflix show, Brand New Cherry Flavor. Spoiler Alert!! In this limited series, a filmmaker heads to Hollywood in her busted Trans Am in the early 90s to make her movie but tumbles down a hallucinatory rabbit hole of sex, magic, revenge, and kittens. The Truth Behind the Death of Robin Williams [Episode 147]

We discuss Black American Sign Language and Plains Indian Sign Language, two languages that have both suffered from being seen as less than the prestige language of ASL. Then we get into the death of Robin Williams who died by suicide in 2014 after being tortured by Lewy Body Disease. 25 million people nationwide also suffer from this disease. His larger-than-life spirit is missed.
